Pull-IT Ankle Inversion
Position: Position your client in supine or seated position with hips and knees extended and the lower limb stabilized proximal to the ankle joint if possible. Attach Pull-IT lateral to the lower limb with strap over the midpoint of the metatarsals.
Cues: "Push as fast and as hard as you can and hold for 3 seconds"
Procedure:
Step 1 - Position client in a supine or seated position.
Step 2 - Position client's ankle at neutral.
Step 3 - Push the START button on the side of the body that you are testing.
Step 4 - Place Pull-IT lateral to the client's foot and fix strap at the midpoint of the shaft of the first metatarsal for inversion.
Step 5 - Ask client to push as fast and as hard as they can and until you say stop.
Step 6 - Rest for 3-5 seconds, repeat step 5 two more times
Step 7 - Push STOP
Step 8 - Repeat steps 2-7 on the other side
Main Muscles: Tibialis Anterior/Posterior, Extensor Hallucis Longus Flexor Digitorum Longus and Flexor Hallucis Longus.
