How can I calibrate a device during testing?
Re-zero a connected device mid-session without ending the session or losing your place.
Overview
If a device reading drifts, or a device needs zeroing again partway through testing, you can recalibrate it from inside the session. You don’t need to end the session first, and your client stays selected.
Before you start
- Make sure the device is connected and nothing is resting on it or pulling on it.
- If a test is currently recording, the result of that test will not be saved when you recalibrate (see Recalibrating while a test is running below).
Steps
- Show the calibrate button. In the session, swipe left on the test to show the scale icon.
- Tap the scale icon. The Calibrating Devices window opens and lists each connected device with Tap to calibrate.
- Zero the device. Tap the device you want to zero. Keep it still and unloaded while it calibrates.
- Confirm. When the device shows Success, tap Done. You’ll return to your test, ready to continue.
Recalibrating while a test is running
If a test is in progress when you tap the scale icon, AxIT warns you first:
- The current test will stop.
- The result will not be saved, even if the trace is still visible on screen.
Choose one:
- Cancel: go back and keep testing.
- Stop & Recalibrate: stop the test and continue with calibration.
Tips
- If calibration doesn’t show Success, check that the device is connected and unloaded, then tap it again.
- Calibrate before you start a test rather than during one, so you don’t lose a result.
