Pull-IT Shoulder Extension
Position: Position your client in a short sitting position holding the Pull-IT handle with shoulder positioned at 90° of flexion and Pull-IT fixed above the arm. Encourage them to only push through the shoulder, and not to lean through the trunk.
Cues: "Pull as fast and as hard as you can and hold for 3 seconds"
Procedure:
Step 1 - Position client in short sitting position.
Step 2 - Position client's shoulder flexed at 90° and internally rotated with palm facing downward holding Pull-IT handle.
Step 3 - Push the START button on the side of the body that you are testing.
Step 4 - Ask client to pull down as fast and as hard as they can until you say stop.
Step 5 - Rest for 3-5 seconds, repeat step 5 two more times.
Step 6 - Push STOP.
Step 7 - Repeat steps 2-7 on the other side.
