Push-IT Shoulder External Rotation at 90

Position: Position your client in supine 

Cues: Push as fast and as hard as you can and hold until I say stop - 3 to 5 seconds

Procedure:

Step 1 - Position client in supine position

Step 2 - Position client's shoulder abducted and elbow flexed at 90 degrees applying the Push-IT just proximal to the wrist on the posterior surface of the forearm.

Step 3 - Push the START button on the side of the body that you are testing

Step 4 - Ask client to push as fast and as hard as they can in an external rotation movement and hold for until I say stop. Make sure the client does not apply an abduction force during this movement.

Step 5 - Rest for 3-5 seconds, repeat step 4 two more times

Step 6 - Push STOP

Step 7 - Repeat steps 2-6 on the other side.

Main Muscles: Posterior Deltoid, Infraspinatus, Teres Minor.
