Stomp-IT Isometric Mid Thigh Pull (IMTP)

Position: Position your patient in a standing position on the Stomp-IT holding a bar in a position just above the knees (approximately 30-40° of knee and hip flexion).

Cues: "Pull as fast and as hard as you can and hold for 3 seconds".

Procedure:

Step 1 - Ask client to start on the Stomp-IT in a shallow squat position holding a bar inside the Isorack or equivalent taking up the slack in the bar which is pressed up against a surface that cannot move.

Step 2 - Push the START button.

Step 3 - Ask client to perform the isometric lift with the cue above.

Step 4 - Perform 3 repetitions in total with 3-5 seconds in-between each repetition.

Step 5 - Push STOP.
