ROM Hip Extension

Position: Position your client lying face down with both legs straight. Stabilize the pelvis with your hand or strap to prevent movement. Hold the tablet against the back of the test thigh, just above the knee.

Cues: Slowly lift your leg up towards the ceiling, keeping it straight, until you feel a strong but comfortable stretch. Hold when you reach that point.

Procedure

Step 1 – Press START on the side you are testing.
Step 2 – Place the tablet against the thigh in the starting position (leg resting flat).
Step 3 – Tap the LINE icon near the distal end of the thigh to begin angle capture.
Step 4 – Instruct the client to extend the hip slowly to their end range.
Step 5 – When they reach end range, tap the screen to capture the angle.
Step 6 – Tap SAVE to record the result.
Step 7 – Repeat steps 1–6 on the other side.
