ROM Shoulder Flexion

Position: Position your client lying on their back with legs straight and arms by their sides. The test arm starts resting on the table alongside the body, palm facing in. Hold the tablet against the upper arm (humerus), just above the elbow.

Cues: Raise your arm up and overhead as far as you can, keeping your arm straight and close to your head. Hold when you reach your maximum.

Procedure

Step 1 – Press START on the side you are testing.
Step 2 – Place the tablet against the upper arm in the starting position (arm by side).
Step 3 – Tap the LINE icon near the distal end of the humerus to begin angle capture.
Step 4 – Instruct the client to slowly flex the shoulder, raising the arm overhead to end range.
Step 5 – When they reach end range, tap the screen to capture the angle.
Step 6 – Tap SAVE to record the result.
Step 7 – Repeat steps 1–6 on the other side.
