ROM Thoracic Rotation

Position: Position your client in a four-point kneeling position (hands and knees). Hips stacked over knees, hands under shoulders. The client places one hand behind their head while the other arm stays supporting their body.

Cues: Keeping your hips still, rotate your upper body and elbow up toward the ceiling as far as you can. Hold when you reach your maximum.

Procedure

Step 1 – Press START on the side you are testing.
Step 2 – Place the tablet with the short edge flat against the client’s spine at the level of T1–T2 in the starting neutral position.
Step 3 – Tap the LINE icon furthest from the spine to begin angle capture.
Step 4 – Instruct the client to rotate their thoracic spine upward, moving the elbow toward the ceiling.
Step 5 – Once full rotation is reached, tap the screen to capture the angle.
Step 6 – Tap SAVE to record the result.
Step 7 – Repeat steps 1–6 on the other side.
