What Does "Metric Calculation Failed" Mean

The AxIT software algorithms are specifically designed to recognize different types of movements being executed. This capability enables the software to determine the relevant data necessary for your testing metrics.

Therefore, it is essential that each test is conducted according to the prescribed protocols outlined in our AxIT Training portal.

If the AxIT software encounters difficulties in calculating the appropriate testing metrics, it will display a warning message accompanied by an exclamation icon.

Some common reasons why metric calculations may fail:

  1. The minimum required repetitions to calculate the metric were not performed.
  2. There was too much "noise" in the force trace for the algorithm to determine the correct metric. This often happens if there is excessive movement on the force plates in between repetitions or is the client is moving a lot whilst using the Pull-IT.
  3. The test start button was pressed while the client already contracting on an isometric strength assessment.
  4. The test began with an incorrect start position. For example the CMJ test was started with the client not standing on the force plates first.
  5. The client has stepped off the force plate in the middle of a balance assessment.
