Why Aren't My Timing Gates Working?
Troubleshoot common issues with your AxIT Timing Gates with these fixes.
-
My gates can't be found on a blue tooth scan.
Make sure your gates are fully charged and flashing when powered on with the switch. Press BUTTON 2 (right button) to connect the master gate. -
My gates are on but I cannot connect to them.
The device uses Bluetooth 4.0 with a maximum range of 10-20 metres. Please make sure you are within range of the master device to communicate successfully. Also make sure that the master device has been placed into bluetooth mode by pressing BUTTON 2 (Bluetooth).
Please ensure that you stay within range of the master device during use. Similarly, battery power settings can temporarily put apps to sleep and disconnect Bluetooth if the screen is locked or the app is minimized for periods of time. -
My additional gates don't seem to connect to the Master gate.
In rare circumstances it is possible that outside signal interference may limit the ability for the timing gates to connect to one another. In this circumstance it is possible to change the Radio Frequency (RF) to another channel. The default RF Channel is set to one.
To enter RF Channel mode, hold BUTTON 1 (left button) for 3 seconds and release. The device will blink red to indicate the current channel. Press Button 1 to increase the channel number.
To save the new channel, hold BUTTON 1 for 3 seconds and release. Now restart the device.
All gates need to be on the same channel to communicate.

My gates are connected but the trigger doesn't seem to activate. The start gate is showing a red light.
AxIT timing gates do not use a reflector but will detect athletes breaking through the beam according to a distance threshold. By default this is 150cm.
When using the gates make sure there are now objects or artifacts within this distance threshold otherwise it may not allow the triggering of the start or finish of the gate.
The distance threshold can be adjusted in the device settings once the gates have been connected.
